Until about 6 weeks ago I had AVG Free on a laptop and then I got Bitdefender and uninstalled AVG. I just noticed this AVG program in my Control Panel  avg technologies cz s.r.o visual studio it's a 10MB program. I assume I should uninstall it? Or is it of any benefit?

Considering two anti-viruses on the same computer can cause issues, and since you no longer have AVG, I would recommend removing it. (It's likely a redistributable to run AVG, therefore unnecessary.)

Hi jackz4000 :)

Yes, you can safely uninstall that program. This is a custom library added by AVG when you install it's Antivirus program. If you got rid of it, there's no reason for you to keep it anymore.

Thanks all for confirming my guess. Couldn't see a use for it, but I've found not to be hasty when ignorant. Uninstalled. Cheers!

If you have another one like that, you can uninstall it as well (since there might be 2 or 3 of them). And no problem jackz, our pleasure :)
