I posted here earlier this year with a similar problem but due to having to move I was unable to come back and see what had been posted. Since then the problems had not resurfaced, until a few days ago.

I've run a bunch of programs to get rid of this problems, but there's an entry in the HTJ log I'm a little worried about, "6dfb713b.exe", and similar ones in C:\ which aren't running, but all the same, I don't trust 'em. And this, "ibm00003.exe" smitfraudfix has found and deleted this a number of times.

I've run: Ad-Adware, Spybot, Ewido and SmitfraudFix. It seems like everything is in working order now, until this afternoon, I keep getting the crash message; "The system has recovered from a serious error".

Here's my HJT log, thanks if someone can help me out here:

Hi akirabomb and Welcome to the Bleeping Computer!

Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

I have run smitfraufix already when the problems first showed up. I did it that time in safe mode, this time I run it in normal mode. Here's the report:

SmitFraudFix v2.65

Scan done at 16:02:53.23, Mon 03/07/2006
Run from C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\SmitfraudFix
OS: Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600] - Windows_NT
Fix ran in normal mode

C:\

C:\WINDOWS

C:\WINDOWS\system

C:\WINDOWS\Web

C:\WINDOWS\system32

C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data

Start Menu

C:\DOCUME~1\User\FAVORI~1

Desktop

C:\Program Files

Corrupted keys

Desktop Components

Sharedtaskscheduler
!!!Attention, following keys are not inevitably infected!!!

SrchSTS.exe by S!Ri
Search SharedTaskScheduler's .dll

Scanning wininet.dll infection

End

Looks pretty clean to me, but I still have weird entries showing up on the task manager and in the C drive folder.

Thanks for looking, any help is greatly appreciated.
