You can uninstall the following:
  • Adobe Flash Player 12 ActiveX & Plugin 64-bits;
  • ALLPlayer V6.X;
  • ExMplayer-MPlayer Gui with thumbnail seeking
  • Java 7 Update 76 (64-bits);
  • Java 7 Update 76;
  • Safari;
  • Smart Toolbar Remover v2.2;
  • VSO Media Player 1.4.11.501;
  • Wise Disk Cleaner 8.42;
You have many media player, I don't know why you need 4-5 of them when you have VLC. If VLC cannot load a particuliar file type, simply download a codec pack like K-Lite and it will. Did you use Panda Antivirus in the past?

Hum where to start ok -

I use Panda anti virus because of the great comments it gets from users compared to the lousy/awful comments that other virus software gets from users .

I have more then 1 video player because the MKV formant is a pain in the tushie to get to play and several other players have failed so need backups so I can try again and because video player updates have never fixed the problem.

Don t I need adobe flash player and java to run win 8.1 and safari browser puts the other crap to shame so why not keep that and wise finds stuff that Ccleaner / MWB and super anti spy wear keeps missing ; can delete the rest I guess hum - later

I don't see Panda anywhere installed on your system, except a hidden service for mobile. Are you sure that it's currently installed? VLC Media Player can play MKV files, so I still don't know why you would need 3 other media players as a back up. This is what I could call "useless bloat", but feel free to keep them if you think you need them. You need Adobe Flash Player only if you use a web browser that doesn't have it built-in, like Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox (Google Chrome have it built-in) and Java is only needed on websites that requires it (not a lot). I'm asking you to uninstall these because their versions are outdated. I recommend to uninstall Safari since the browser for Windows have been discontinued years ago and hasn't been updated since. Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, even Internet Explorer are way more performant than it. And you could use TFC (Temp File Cleaner), available as a stand-alone executable on BleepingComputer, to compensate for what CCleaner misses.

The main point here is that you use several programs for the same purpose, and that's why most of them should go.

Yes Panda is up and running in the pop up task bar thingy above the clock using the latest version 15.1.0 .

And using/staying with i.e. 11 so the flash player needs to be updated hum ?    I am using version 7.0.760.13 and that should be the latest version.

I will delete safari but dang that was the best not like the other crap; chrome and Mozilla etc; but I read great comments on a browser

that apple has that works on win 8.1 so might try that .

And what else ohhhh yes the players I have tried 2x using klite updates and it doesn t fix MKV its still very very flaky playing MKV so maybe just keep 1 video player as back up ; so which is 2nd best the one that's a keeper; win media is the pits so not that one but which one is a keeper ?       And what else - later  .  .

I don't see Panda installed, what's the full, complete name of the Panda product you are using? The latest version for Adobe Flash Player is 17.0.0.134, you can download it from here:

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/?loc=en

You used these media players more than me, so you can decide which one you want to keep as a back up. And personally, I've been playing .mvk files just fine on my VLC Media Player, no codec packs installed too. Once you're done with these uninstalls, let me know and we'll move forward.

What web browser did you use to check your Adobe Flash Player version? Also, do you go on any websites that requires Java? If not, no need to install it since it's a very vulnerable program. I suggest you to reinstall Panda Antivirus, since it doesn't show up in your installed programs list.

Yes...using Java is an unnecessary security risk...especially using older versions which have vulnerabilities that malicious sites can use to exploit and infect your system.Although Java is commonly used in business environments and many VPN providers still use it, the average user does not need to install Java software.I recommend just uninstalling Java if you don't use it.If you must use Java, many security researchers and computer security organizations caution users to limit their usage and to disable Java Plug-ins or add-ons in your browsers.

If you need Java for a specific Web site, consider adopting a two-browser approach. If you normally browse the Web with Firefox, for example, consider disabling the Java plugin in Firefox, and then using an alternative browser (Chrome, IE9, Safari, etc.) with Java enabled to browse only the site(s) that require(s) it.

Krebs On Security: ...Java

To defend against this and future Java vulnerabilities, consider disabling Java in web browsers until adequate updates are available. As with any software, unnecessary features should be disabled or removed as appropriate for your environment.

Using i.e. 11.0 and sticking with it and will run list again and look for panda no reason to re install and yes but can t recall which sites but guess I can un install java from the add / delete list see what happens; hope nothing crashes then if needed at some web site just re install if asked.

Thought java was needed but if you folks hate it will delete that and the 3/4 other things you mention ; so what now anything else ?  ?

If you are signed in as a member, you should not see any "Pop-ups" or similar. This is an indication that you may need Expert help (see below).

Do not run the programs you mention, unless directed by an Expert, or in the directions below.

Please follow the instructions in the Malware Removal and Log Section Preparation Guide .

  • If you cannot complete a step, then skip it and continue with the next.
  • In Step 6 there are instructions for downloading and running "FRST" which will create two logs.

When you have done that, Post your logs (as directed) in the Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs forum, NOT here, for assistance by the Malware Response Team.

Start a new topic, give it a relevant title and post your log(s) along with a brief description of your problem, a summary of any anti-malware tools you have used and a summary of any steps that you have performed on your own. If you cannot produce any of the required logs , then still start the new topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happened when you tried to create them.
A member of the Malware Removal Team will walk you through, step by step, on how to clean your computer.

After doing this, please reply back in this thread with a link to the new topic so we can close this one, to prevent others answering incorrectly.

Also leave a link to this topic so they can see what your problems were .......

Thank You.......

EDIT -

Safari has always been a good and safe browser, as I have used it as a spare browser for years, and I am not sure why you were told to remove it - - -

You were told "using Java is an unnecessary security risk...especially using older versions", but I still update it and run it on Win 7 and 8.1 for some programs.

Note : My opinions : Many of these ideas are "personal only" and not always 100% required on all computers, but if you post to the Experts area, you will get a full check-up.

As a general rule Bleeping Computer does not close (lock) topics in this forum. An exception to that rule is malware related topics...we close topics when a member has been asked to (and does) start a new topic in the Malware Removal Logs forum and posts the required logs. Another exception is when we refer members to post their questions or comments in an existing discussion topic such as those for various ransomware infections.
