Hi, I have been having this problem for a while, and I am looking for a fix.

When I install windows on to my computer using the disk, it will install fine. The problems start when I reboot windows after installing. The starting windows screen loads for about a minute, then it blue screens for about half a second, then reboots. When I use a Linux live cd to look at my files, everything in system32 folder is gone. I have wiped my hard drive twice already. I have tried using diskpart from the live cd, but when I run it I sometimes get a message about no fixed drives being found. I cannot boot in safe mode either.

Two possible causes for this problem that spring to mind.

1. The Windows install disk could be faulty or damaged.

2. The hard drive could be faulty or failing.

I hope this helps.

Thanks, I scanned the hard drive using ultimate boot cd, and I found that the hard drive was failing. Bought a new one and its working fine
