Not too sure where this would go, so it can be moved to wherever it belongs.
Is there a way to allow separate mice/keyboards on the same computer.  I would like to make it so I do something on my main monitor while my girlfriend does something on a separate monitor without the need for getting a completely separate computer.  Would a virtual machine serve this purpose?  Or is there a more simple way to do it?

I don't know - I had never even thought of trying it until I saw your post - but at the least I think you would need dual video cards.

Can you post back with the specifications on your computer, or at least make and model. ?

I am going to be away until about the 22nd October. Time on-line will be reduced and my internet access may be limited. PMs may not be replied to as quickly as normal !

Right now I'm using a computer with an i5-4440 3.1ghz, gtx 960, 8gb ram.

I am able to run my main monitor, which is a 40 inch tv, via hdmi, and a separate monitor via vga, without a problem.

I am not too sure if you can set this up via virtual machine.  My first thought is no.  I have never seen a system that could differentiate between two mice inputs.  I do not think this is possible but I am also not 100% sure on this.
