A friend of mine had a disk containing pictures of old steam trains but could not get it to open.

I am assured he tried everything but it would not open.

He gave it to a mate of his who returned a working copy of said disk...........so all is well.

He will not tell us how he did it.

I was wondering whether anyone could offer any help in telling me how it was done.

As we now have a good copy of the original, it is not an urgent issue......................................more of curiosity value, and of course it is bugging me.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Ron

Some disks go bad.  I do not know the technicalities.  Someone can put files on a disk, the disk will be operational, and then several weeks or months later, it is not usable.  It happened to me for a small number of disks.  Maybe a certain brand and model of CD.  Maybe storage conditions related to the brand and model of CD.
