I will be giving my laptop away, it is 5 years old and is running Windows XP.  It is an HP.

I want to make my laptop secure and replace the internal hard drive before giving it away.

Will I encounter any problems if I upgrade from 250 gb to 1 TB?  I heard that I might.

We would need to know the laptop model to do some research and see if it supports 1Tb hard drives.

Besides the new drive, the installation disks for the OS will be needed, by you or whoever receives it.
