my frend has an advent laptop it was overheating then suddenly stopped turning on,i took it off him while ago it powers on but fan doesnt start or nothing happens,is mobo dead


i checked ram its fine

It's a laptop...could be power unit...could be board.  In the absence of any power indications to anything, I'd start with the power as a suspect.

ok thanks any test i can do that i would know if its power or board?
