I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Dave and have been in the computer business one way or the other since the dawn of the PC era; even longer if one considers time spent developing specialized systems and writing code in Basic, APL, Fortran (yes, I'm that old), and C. I even spent time on Assembler Languages. I've been building PCs since the introduction of the 386 and recently built my first "modern era" ASUS/AMD platform on Windows 7 Pro. Design of new stuff is my thing while I'm probably the only guy crazy enough to create a new high tech startup while on Medicare.

I graduated from Drexel University with an EE (then Institute of Technology) in Philly in 1969 and got a MS degree in Engineering from Brown in 1971.

Hope to be able to help some newcomers and learn a few new tricks myself. While I have run into some very good computing forums over the years, this one looks like one of the best. Good Work.
