Testing laptop power connector

Is it possible to test for continuity from the power connector of a laptop to the battery terminals (on the motherboard) to eliminate a power connector problem? I'm trying to avoid dismantling the laptop...

Yes.
1. Use a DMM and ring out the power connector & the power pack. E.g. plug in battery pack and bridge the power port on your laptop with your DMM.
2. Use a different power adapter / battery pack.
3. Get into bios / diagnostic mode and run the system test. There is one for power/ battery

Thanks cz - the problem I have is no power to the board. I have removed the battery as I'm not interested in the result of its condition and the power adapter is OK (tested). I get continuity on ground but not on +
