My Lenovo X201 Tablet gives me 3 seconds to choose Win7 or recovery. Another computer gives me 28 seconds to choose between Win 7 and XP - this 28 just happened without my doing anything after I set up the dual boot.

How can I change the 3 second timing to something longer?

Is this in the right forum category?

Thanks for advice.

Hello there,

You are in the right place - I have reported your other post to be deleted by a moderator.  Mod Edit:  That post has been deleted - Hamluis.

To change the countdown duration, you can try EasyBCD.

Regards,
Alex

I suspect that you may be talking about the delay during the "Select an operating system" screen during boot, that defaults to 30 seconds.

To change this:

  1. open the System control panel (shortcut: Windows+Break)
  2. select Advanced System Settings from the left hand menu:

  3. Click the Settings button in the Start-up and Recovery group:

  4. Edit the Time to display list of operating systems to suit:
