Hey everyone,

So...lets see. For a while now I've been having BSoD and lock-up issues with my comp. So much so that I've lost track of some of the actual BSoD codes that I've received.

I've tried various forms of troubleshooting.

I've stress-tested the living hell out of everything in my system (MemTest, various CPU and GPU burn-in tests).

I've reformatted countless times.

I've monitored temperatures and voltages with Open Hardware Monitor, with nothing appearing to reach excess.

I've not been overclocking, but I went so far as to turn off Intel's Turbo function to ensure that was not an issue.

In the last two weeks I also replaced my keyboard and mouse. (KB was a 2nd gen Logitech G15 with the orange backlighting; Mouse was a Cyborg R.A.T.7; New hardware is Razer Blackwidow Chroma and Logitech G502).

For several days after replacing my KB and mouse (my KB, by the way, had a wiring issue that was causing it to constantly disconnect at the slightest movement, which also caused issues in my USB drivers), I was not receiving any issues at all. No lock-ups, BSoDs, or other system quirks.

Out of nowhere, a new BSoD showed up. A 0x101 BSoD.

Being a new code for me, I did my usual research using Google and WhoCrashed, but also decided to dig through my Event Viewer.

Turns out that I received this code back on February 12th as well (not to mention the C4 and C2 codes that happened once each since February 6th)

At this point, I'm probably too damn frustrated to think straight about the issue, so I need some outside perspective.

I've taken the liberty of creating a Speccy snapshot here:

**** End of log ****

My Minidump folder was completely empty (hidden files are set to display, so nothing hidden in there either).

My MEMORY.DMP file is kinda huge, so I zipped it, but it will take a bit to upload to my Google Drive (from there I will share it to MediaFire most likely).

I've also uploaded a results.txt from MiniToolBox, and physical snapshots for Speccy to this post, MediaFire, and my Google Drive.

Google Drive Folder: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B8Ca5XlL0MV0fkJ3R3psZktFRUV2ZjlPcURSdTVxZTdnN2hDMlRhNldxVFFOWHJkSG5KUUk&usp=sharing

MediaFire Folder: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/qe5xgdn8xyi1w/Comp_Issues_Files

A couple extra tidbits of data about my comp:

-ZERO Gigabyte software is installed

-Keyboard: Razer Blackwidow Chroma (With Razer software and drivers installed)

-Mouse: Logitech G502 (With Logitech drivers and gaming software installed; I also connect with the Logitech Arx Control on my phone)

-RAID array: 2x 60GB OCZ Agility SSDs (Issues with comp pre-date this RAID array, FYI)

In an ideal situation, I don't spend a single penny to replace hardware (Not that I'm opposed to spending money, but I don't have a lot to spare right now), but the 0x101 code seems to end in carebear tears and replaced CPUs more often than not. If that's the case, anything I source needs to be from Canadian vendors.

So yeah, this is where I'm at. I'm no slouch with computers, but this whole issue has been a rollercoaster ride of inconsistent behaviours and error codes.

I appreciate any time and effort anyone can offer to help me narrow down and resolve the problem here.

Above scheduled tasks include several quezxtionable items, IMO.  I would move this topic to Am I infected for a malware check.

ST350063 0AS SCSI Disk Device:  Looks questionable to me, I would run a long diagnostic on this drive.

To be honest...if I were to interpret the types of errors reflected, I would lean toward either an illegal install of Windows or malware.  The problem is that this would only be my interpretation, nothing substantial to stand on.

Thank you for reviewing this hamluis.

Reviewing those scheduled tasks, here's what I can confirm:

AI_Updater & IEError & boosterpop: These are supposedly tied in with CCleaner. Since I've never intentionally installed this software, it's always possible that it snuck in attached to another bit of software (though I'm typically quite diligent about unselecting those), or it's not even part of CCleaner. I've actually deleted it, but the scheduler says it has never been run thus far.

GoogleUpdateTaskMachineUA & GoogleUpdateTaskMachineCore: Are actually tied in with Google software. It's basically an auto-updater.

HDNINSTSCHD: I can't narrow down a purpose for this, but a quick Google search suggests this is tied with "unwanted software". I've since deleted it from scheduler.

IE_ERR4WDR & UPDTEXE4_WDR: These are apparently tied with a weather app. Be it the Windows widget or which, I'm not sure, but the folder it directs to is missing all executable files, and since I do not use weather apps on my comp, I've deleted it from scheduler anyway.

FRAPS: This is a status checker for a software I use to record videos of my screen, take screenshots, and show frames per sec. It's primary purpose is for use with games.

Regarding ST350063, that is my 500GB Seagate drive plugged into one of my hot-swap drives.

Originally it was part of a pair that was in an external enclosure. A couple years back, one of the two drives failed and I didn't bother replacing it. I have run diagnostics on it in the past, but come up blank. To be sure though, I am running a full check on it now to test further.

Beyond that, I am running a malware scan to be sure. I feel it is important to point out that during some reformats I have run on a minimal amount of software to test things out, and found the issue persistent. I'm thus far lacking conviction in the theory that this is due to anything software related, though I'm open to the possibility with sufficient logic provided to back the theory.

Thank you again for taking a look at this and pointing out those issues though. If anything, it should clean out a few bits of junk and maybe free up a few clock cycles in my CPU. :)

Might as well run the chkdsk /r command, followed by the sfc /scannow command...as a way of trying to minimize possible file issues (missing/damaged).

Hey, so I ran the check disk overnight, as I have a few too many drives to sit and watch it do its thing. :S

Seems to have run and boot up without issue.

I loaded up my Windows disc this morning to run sfc, which found zero issues to contend with, however prior to getting to select options in the repair suite, it did find a boot issue that I let it repair.

Still no indication of something that would fix a a 0x101 BSoD yet, though. :(

So I picked up a Pentium G2130 on the cheap to test likelihood that the issue is my CPU, and so far I've had no lock-ups or blue screens.

Given this, I've opted to initiate the RMA process on my Core i7 3770K.

Sorry to hear that, I would never suspect a CPU...good work on your part.

Happy computing :).

I jst started using Genutax Standard yesterday and so far I've had two lock-ups, data dumps and the blue screen of death. All while I've been wortking in the program.

You don't tthink Genutax has some bad code in it?

A valid suggestion, though I have never used Genutax in Linux (and still had issues when I used that OS).

I've also had these problems prior to ever finding out about GenuTax, which I only installed for the first time late last year.
