I tried and disliked an App from the OS X App Store (not the iOS App Store - stupid naming choices).

I have deleted the software, but every time there is an update, the App Store tell me about it and leaves that red badge on the icon.  Anyone know how to tell the App Store to forget about an App?

Thx

If you open Launchpad and long left click on the icon of the app, you can drag it to the Trash which will remove it from your system. Does it not show in Launchpad?

Thanks so much for replying.  It's weird.  The program doesn't show in Launchpad or in Applications, but App Store still wants to give me updates.  If I try to update it I just get an error.  Not the worst thing in the world, I'd just like to get rid of that badge.

In the App Store update list, right click on the app and Hide Update.

It's not in the Update-List but in the Shopping list. Right Click and Hide the purchased item you want.

If all else fails... You could try re-installing the app... And downloading "AppCleaner". And uninstall the app using that software.

I not recommended any cleaner if you're not familiar with Mac OS internals. If you using it please make a backup of all your data. For simple search for specific apps you can using Find any File . This is a good Tool for searching parts of an unwanted application. Again, if you not sure how to delete anything ask here for help.

Thanks so much for all the input.  It was finally re-installing, then hiding updates from the App Store, then re-deleting it that worked.  What a chore.

Thanks, all

(now I just have to figure out how to mark this as solved.
