Hey guys, I lost all my wallpapers not to long ago.  I also cannot access the site that I got many of the ones that I liked.  So if you will turn me on to some site for wallpapers.  I really like the abstract stuff but anything you like will be fine.

I'm also having issues just downloading them at this point.  I am running Mint KDE and don't know if I am just doing something wrong.  I got this Error:  linux-mint-t1.jpgCannot save due to insufficient permissions. Please save to another location.

Thanks pcpunk!

Just downloaded one, but I let it just download without choosing where to put it, so it went to Documents.  I wanted it to go to a folder named Wallpapers.  I suppose this is because I created the Wallpaper Folder?

Yes you can make a directory called wallpapers but make sure you make it where it does not require root permission or you will run into the same issue as before. Unless you want to put it in a directory which requires root permission but then you will have to save it while in "root". (I don't recommend that, too much work) If you like to rotate your wallpapers you might want to look at a program called Variety which has some sources for rotating wall papers and changing them on your desktop at timed intervals.

Just create a folder in Home/Pictures and call it wallpapers.

I see, thank you very much to all.  Nick, that is a very good and simple way to fix this.  What I did was right click the Wallpaper file I created>Root Actions>Ownership to Active user, and that changed the permissions correctly as seen in Permissions.  Cool stuff KDE is awesome!

What I did was right click in the Photos folder, select " Create New folder " then renamed it WallPapers.

I have never used Linux Mint with KDE, I prefer Kubuntu, and yes it's cool.

Thanks guys!

Hollowface the one that I absolutely loved is no longer available, here is the old link:  http://vedgoo.com/mediagallery/album.php?aid=306&page=1

Now I can't find anything even close to how good it was.

I hope it comes back and that I can donate to it if possible!  I lost about thirty really cool Wallpapers from there.  Lost of unique abstract art, some really spacey stuff with planets, space ships and just really unusual stuff.  I had all of it installed to my screen saver, very nice.

NickAu

Thanks a lot Nick for the video of animated wallpapers, I learned some stuff there that I was wondering about.  Does it take much resources to run those?
