can only install window 7 32bit not 64bit.

On an old laptop, I was trying to install windows 7 64 bit but was told that the device only supports 32bit.

That determines how a PC can run 32 bit instead of 64 bit?

It depends on if the CPU is 32bit or 64bit. You can find out your CPU bit by using the GRC utility here. Yours  will show as 32bit.
