hi my friend has deleted a file of his server,if i go to the server drive think its the p drive -rite click and go to restore previous versions,when i find the date it was deleted which was last week,how do i copy it to desktop will it give me an option to copy, and yes shadow copies are enabled

If you have read access to where that file you want is stored, you should be able to right-click, pick Copy, goto your hard-drive, pick Paste.  You asked a good question, 'cause not all servers allow user to copy files.

If you see the shadow copies, and you do not see Copy option (Not sure why) then you should see the Open option.

This will display the folder/file in Explorer so you can then do the copy directly from explorer.
