usb 3.0 PCI card add-on

Hello,

 

I would like to add a usb 3 pci card to my desktop, but I am not sure if I have the right slot or will it work or not !

If you're using the on-board video so the x16 slot is free, then backwards compatibility allows an x4 card to operate in an x16 slot.

 

However if this slot isn't vacant, then the only alternative on that board, the PCI slots, aren't fast enough to support even a single USB3 port.
