I've just visited Piriform's CCleaner webpage,

and they say it has reached 1 Billion downloads worldwide! Woah!

I still don't get why so many people are using CCleaner, and why respected members on this forum have canned instructions to download that program. Most things the program does can be done manually when needed. There are no real benefits in clearing temp files on a regular basis. In fact, it can do more harm than good, and I'm still not talking about the registry cleaner yet. I have no respect for software that includes such questionable tools nor for their developers.

Because it took 3/4 of users, it's popular enough and people use it - you note it for them, here.

 

Besides "can do harm" - why won't have it at handly? ...don't you like it? :)
