Weird. IP supposedly resolves to Amazon :scratchhead: http://www.speedguide.net/ip/54.149.18.169#_

Started tonight, thread developing @ Avast Forum here: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=166531.new#new

Anyone else having this problem? (screenshot below)

EDIT TO ADD Per user Techknow @ Avast Forum: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=166531.msg1185662#msg1185662
From my understanding this is simply a Mozilla service that is located on Amazon's server farm.  Pretty standard.

Avast blocking it is another Avast false positive.  I'm not sure why Avast hasn't fixed it in a timely manner - they have been notified through their labs and obviously by multiple people on their forum.

This has happened before. The current report to the avast forums was made yesterday...I see you replied there too.

One of the users there already reported the issue to avast so now it is just wait and see.

No problem. One prominent member of the avast team (Lisandro) has also been affected so I don't think it will take too long before this is fixed.

we will remove this detection from our black list but there was a bit problem because this domain is also hosting of newly generated malicious sites, it was a block reason.

That's a good reason to block.

Confirmed, I'm no longer getting popups a/o about 6:15 AM EST however, I'm still getting untrusted/invalid cert from FFox visiting hxxps://54.149.18.169/1.0/sync/1.5

That's a FF issue for what it considers an abnormal session.
