Mod Edit: Moved to Win7 ~~ boopme
Hello, I've never posted any issue before so I hope I am posting this in the right place.
My Husbands computer, which he uses for school, is running very slow and seems to be getting slower. It takes 3 minutes to boot in safe mode and almost 6 minutes for a full boot.
About three weeks ago he was conviced it was bad sectors on the hard drive that caused the problems, so he made a system image, backup up data, bought and installed a new HD. restored t the new hard drive, but the same prolem (slow boot) is till there.
I've run check disk, disk clean up , defrag, & Update, no luck. So i thought it could be a virus, so I updated and ran full scans with MSE, malwarbytes, Junkware removal tool, adware removal, all returned clean scans. Then I thought perhps it is a software conflict so i uninstalled all but MSE. Then i thought it was start up programs, so i went into MSCONFIG, hid all microsoft and disabled all programs, still no luck. I've also run sfc scannow and used Tweaking.com all with no luck.
I really dont know what else to do. Any suggestions - besides a full reinstall is most certainly appreciated.
