Can I use the "unlisted videos" feature in a video that I have just uploaded to YouTube to make it visible to a restricted number of viewers WITHOUT requiring them to sign in to Google?  If so, do I have to send the link to them first as a "Private" video and then change it to "Unlisted"?

The whole "unlisted" process seems very obscure and none of the answers that I have seen on the web explain the process in detail :(
