So I have been having issues with my computer freezing and forcing me to reset it to get it to work again the past couple of days.  It didn't seem to start until I added another SSD and did a clean install of W8.1.

At first I was crashing in Chivalry at random intervals, I could even not crash in a gaming session.  I noticed in Event Viewer all my crashes were realted to AODDriver 4.3, 4.2, 4.1, etc.  I eventually gave up after trying all of these solutions and did a clean install of W7 Pro.  I continue to have issues.  At first I was getting errors like "Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent", "Session "ReadyBoot" stopped due to the following error: 0xC0000188", and so on.  I fixed these errors from coming up.

Now the computer just crashes with nothing but "Audit events have been dropped by the transport.  0".  (and this has only shown up once after many crashes)  I also get the warning "The content source <csc://{S-1-5-21-3156344856-333978733-371778063-1000}/> cannot be accessed." sometimes.

I tested my CPU, RAM, GPU, etc, all seem to be fine.  In fact, when I used Prime95 and Furmark at the same time to test, the computer seemed to run fine.  I never went higher than 67 on my GPU under full load, and idk abut my CPU, because AMD's CPU sensor are retarded.  (it was also under full load).  I ran it for about 15 minutes, and all worked good.

When I try to play Dying Light I just crash about 5-10 minutes in, sometimes less.  I just don't know what to do at this point, and it is very frustrating.  I even disconnected my HDD to see if that would fix it (since the issues happened after adding another SSD, maybe needed more power).

I have also tried without any OC, no dice.

Full specs on profile.

Sorry about the late reply, I got caught up in trying to fix this.  Since this post I have gotten a 600W PSU (EVGA 600B), and done a complete reinstall and installed all my drivers.  (still in process of installing updates)  I am still crashing, however.  I took apart my GPU and reapplied the thermal paste, and saw some discoloration near the exhaust.  When I would play Chivalry I would get artifacting when choosing teams, but only there and only for a few seconds.

I am not so sure Speccy, or any program for that matter, can read my CPU's temperatures correctly.  My BIOS says I idle at about 35-45.

You said you added anther SSD, and that you clean installed win 8.1.

I am curious of a few things:

Wwhat other drives are in your computer?

Are you connected to a SATA2 or SATA3 port with your SSD?

What was the OS that was installed before you clean installed win 8.1?

ADATA XPG SX 900 128 GB

Kingston SSDNow v300 120 GB

Seagate Barracuda 500 GB, 7200 RPM

All are SATA3, and Windows 7.

Max temperature for your CPU is 72 Celsius.  Speccy reflects current 65 Celsius .  Based on my experience with some AMD CPus, I'd say that you need a better cooler if you are going to game.

Are you using the stock heatsink/fan?  Sounds like it.

If the CPU is overheating...and the video is tied directly to the CPU...then it makes sense in my world for you to have problems when gaming.

There also seems to be a known situation with the R9 regarding overheating.

Overheating of CPU and GPU...well, I'd consider that a system showstopper.

For more valid opinions, I am moving this topic to the Internal Hardware forum.

I was just stress testing before I took that snapshot, but Speccy, or any program for that matter, has never been able to give me reliable temperatures due to how AMD calculates their temps.

I am using the Hyper 212 EVO, and I cleaned it out about a week ago and reapplied thermal paste.  I also did the same with my GPU. (it actually dropped my temps by about 8)

The thing is I can play video games just fine with the integrated graphics and with my R7 250 in dual graphics.

When I use my R9 270 I crash, when I use the R7 250 I do not.
