Over in logs, RansomeWare Victim asked about backup/restore options in opening post.

Here's my answer [because I cannot post in logs forum]:

OP also asked about going-forward backup/restore ideas.  There are a number of very good free and fee backup/restore programs.  Windows 7 & 8 have a fairly decent built-in backup function.  I use Acronis True Image myself, however, there are many others.  After OP has reCreated and/or reDownloaded data, texts, docs, pics, etc. -- OP needs to start on a weekly backup routine, or at the very least a bi-monthly backup routine.  And, test each and every backup image of cdrive OS partition and of ddrive data partition by restoring a few files.

Those folks will have any questions or concerns answered by the MRT experts who assist members who post in that forum. It may take a while to get a response but everyone's topic will be reviewed and answered as soon as possible. We have mechanisms in place to prevent logs from being overlooked.
