i have recently purchased a used computer but at start up it asks for a novell log in i do not have that info and there is no way for me to get to the control panel or anything else without bypassing that. is there a way to bypass it? will replacing the memory card help?

Does the login screen have a check box on it that specifies WORKSTATION ONLY? Check that box and it should let you use it as a windows workstation. If you can make contact back with the seller, ask them for a login, and then uninstall it.

Also try this: Go into safe mode and access it from there. Look for a red N in the sys tray and right click on it. Select properties. you will see a screen that should display Novell client as a component. Highlight it and click remove - uninstall.

thank you it does say workstation and when i do that it asks for another log in. i tried to get ahold of the seller no luck.... how do i get to safe mode? when i turn on the computer it goes through the applying windows and all that then to this novel login cant do anything else

Do you have the Windows Install software for this computer? Or a recovery partition with the recovery software? What is the make and model of your computer?
