I am running win xp on my desktop and I have dual monitors. The other day I unplugged one monitor without turning off my computer and since then, the monitor that i have designated as my secondary monitor to extend my desktop to has my icons on it everytime i reboot.  I have tried to play with the settings under desktop properties settings but nothing will get it back to how it was. They used to appear on my primary monitor. Help please

Booting up with the secondary monitor disconnected, should fix the problem. Windows will select the only monitor that's connected, and put the icons on it. Then you can shut down and plug the secondary monitor in again, and the next time you boot up the icons should remain on the primary monitor.

The only other thing you might need to do is enable the secondary monitor again.
