I was a member of the SmartComputing forums in the mid nineties. I loved helping new users and interacting with forum members.

A large number of sites get "passed around".  I hadn't heard of "smartcomputer" either.  I was pointed here "BC" as a member of PCWorld when they closed their forums to all but subscribers and no "paper" magazine anymore.  All paper types have become more about phones than desktops and laptops.  Find refreshing views and approaches to problems.  Best virus category anywhere.

What happened on smartcomputing was the magazine was taken over, and new owners did'ent want the forum and just closed it without warning giving non of us time to say our good byes.
