Having a bit of a problem here with my Dell XPS 8700. Was recently overheating so I installed a stronger PSU and now although the heats are not going too overboard when I game. (68C GPU 60'sC CPU) but when gaming the computer sounds funny and at times I kinda smell something, could just be the new PSU but I wanted to check my motherboard temps and they are no where to be found. I've used HWMonitor as well as the Bios. Anybody have any other ideas?

Check using real temp. You can even configure  it to alarm you when temp of processor / gpu exceeds a set limit.

Other good ones are:

Make sure your pc's air vents and fans are clean.
