APPCRASH Error

Installed Sigil 0.8.4 on my Toshiba Satellite L355D 32 bit running Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2. The following error was returned.

Discussion with Sigil developers on the Mobileread forum no one else is having this or any other issue.

ATI graphic files updated to latest version available on Toshiba.com. Not using "Windows Aero" theme. Unable to locate the "settings.ini" associated with Windows sidecar.

I was able to get the Sigil program to run without errors by ensuring "Windows Aero" was not selected in "Windows Color and Appearance". But the 'sfc' errors listed in post #1 still exist.  I have never used the Windows Sidebar before. I did tun it on today rebooted, turned off, rebooted; but the 'sfc' items are still showing as unrepairable.
