My Norton detected two WapCHK.dll files but will not allow me to rid myself of them. They are located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Companion Wizard & C:\Program Files\Common Files\WinAntiVirus Pro 2006. I've tried a variety of free anti-virus and malware programs to no luck. Can you help me figure out how to rid myself of these files?

Try uninstalling both WinAntiVirus Pro 2006 and Companion Wizard via the Add and Remove Programs option in the Control Panel. Scroll down until you find them and then click Remove.

Then reboot into safe mode and run a Norton scan. These may be affiliated with a WinFixer infection but give this a try and let us know if it works...also describe any other symptoms you may have, aside from Norton giving you alerts.
