I have Win7 on my Laptop Desktop PC.

I have a Work Group name setup on my Desktop PC.

And I have my Laptop on the same Work Group.

And I can send and get Data oiff my Laptop with the WiFi and it works.

I just have to turn my Laptop on so it can be seen but the Network but all is good.

Now on my Laptop is a lot of photos and 5 Folders named Christmas 1. to 5. and this is the strange part.

On my Desktop if I go into My Computer and down where it says Networks right under this is a Icone of a Network BOX and it has an  X  on it.

And it has my Laptop System name and this is ok I get this it has an  X  on it because my Laptop is turned off.

But right before the Laptop System name it says   Christmas 5.    what is this?

Can you post a screenshot of what you are describing?

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Ok I put a photo up of what it looks like.

As you can see even though my Laptop is not on this is why my Network has an  X  on it.

It has the word   Christmas 05  before my Laptop System Name witch is for the Network.

But like I say Christmas 05 is a Folder on my Laptop with photos in it so this is what has me going nuts.

That appears to be a mapped network drive to the "Christmass 05" folder on your laptop. If you don't want it to show up in Computer, simply right click on it and choose 'Disconnect'.

ok now when I have my Laptop on and I right click Computer on my Desktop I go to Map Network Drive.

And it sees my Laptop System Name and I can move files from it or to it.

But I just did not know why under Network the icon name is   Christmas 05 then my Laptop System name?

Is it that it just is showing me the last Folder I went into the last time I had them Networked?

Yes, it is showing the name of the folder you mapped the drive to - probably from the last time you transferred files between them.
