I set everything up to have an XP Home Screen. The problem is, the homescreen nevershows up. I always see the other way, the secure way that is used for companies.

How do I fix this? Everything under controls is set up and I still do not know why this is doing this!

Are you talking about having the prompt to enter user name & password instead of logging in automatically with the Welcome screen?

Hi Lauren_Marie, to BC

Try going to Start/Control Panel/User Accounts then select Change the way users log on or off. On this screen put a check mark in the Use the Welcome Screen Box. This should give you the log on screen you want. :flowers:

But I want to have a password for MY account. I just want to logg in using the welcome screen and not this prompt that asks for my username and password. I just want to be able to CLICK my username and put in a password.

No. What you dont undestand is I WANT my computer to have a password to it. I, however, want it to load up the WELCOME SCREEN not this prompt that asks for both my user name and password. Ijust want to be able to click my icon, put my password in and be set. I cannot do that currently.

I understand what you mean.
What type account do you have?

See a screen shot--

Do as in the picture & restart & see what happens.
It should work.

I use Tweak UI to bypass the Welcome screen.
I'll log off from the Start menu & restart & see what happens.
I may have to change the Tweak UI setting.
Or not.
I'll post the results later.
