unable to connect to internet by cable

This pc has window XP profesional and does not work with cable but normal wireless, where can be the error to fix it. Rgds mloo55

Did you turn off your ethernet adapter? Go to control panel -> Network Connections -> you will see an icon labeled Local Area Connection that must be enabled. If it is disabled, right-click it and select enable.
