I have the basic home version of Win 8. This strange icon sometimes appears in the bottom right hand corner of the screen after startup. It can be moved around but right and left clicks have no effect. I have included the Skype icon for size comparison, I copied them with snipping tool.

Any ideas please?

It seems like an icon or pop-up that didn't dissapear completely. It actually looks like the one from COMODO. Are you using a COMODO product?

It totally looks like a prompt from Comodo that doesn't close properly. I would try to maybe repair the current COMODO products installation or completely reinstall them.

I'll report back in a few days, after some starts and stops and restarts.
