Sooooooo I am using a school laptop, one hour ago, I was installing a recorder and Vosteran is now making love to my browsers. I tried to use control panel but the uninstall program button isn't there because the school is against that. I can't download stuff like Malwarebytes with admin permission which I don't have. So I need help on this.

Permission enough to install malware but not enough to remove it. Tricky.

Maybe you can try Revo un-installer.

Try the portable version.

Geez, that didn't help, all versions (including the portable) needs admin password

This should be taken care of by your school's IT department but if you want to go ahead you can try the following.

You need to use IE because you cannot download anyhting. This may not work as you need to install an ActiveX add-on which is done automatically when you click Online Scanner in the following link.

Go to Eset Online Scanner. The scan can take awhile.

  • Select the option YES, I accept the Terms of Use then click on: EOLS2.gif
  • When prompted allow the Add-On/Active X to install.
  • Make sure that the option Remove found threats is checked, and the option Scan archives is also checked.
  • Now click on Advanced Settings and select the following:
    • Scan for potentially unwanted applications
    • Scan for potentially unsafe applications
    • Enable Anti-Stealth Technology
  • Now click on: EOLS3.gif

Could you tell us the location of the Vosteran files? It may help other people with the same problem, especially if they are unable to run any programs like you.  Glad you got it fixed and thanks for the update.
