Hi folks :thumbup2:  I in need of a little help from from one of you esteemed computer nerds. When I set up my windows 8 system, I forgot to enter a windows administrator password :hysterical:. Could someone kindly tell me, if  it is possible, how to overcome this idiocy without completely resetting my computer and of course, losing all my files?? Many thanks in anticipation of a favourable reply, Yours jonni2341..

Did you try simply pressing enter when it asks you for the password?

Hi YeahBleeping, Many thanks for your reply. I couldn't find it for a while. I don't get your answer mate, so at what time will I get a request to press enter? Do you mean when I open up and sign in with my account password? That is all I can think of when you say to press enter. The password I was thinking of is the one that is alloted to the administrator account when setting up the computer. Can you clarify please. Regards, jonni2341.

Thank you quietman7,

I got a new PC last week running Windows 8.1, after

using XP for years and years, it is a strange beast.

your links are just the information I was looking for

because the password to use the PC was really

bugging me.

I have another problem though, I can't get into

any other part of Microsoft in windows8.1 that

askes for a password. The startup one is no good,

nor is my microsoft account one, maybe I will have

to register at each place.

Thank you once again.

Mike.
