I was experiencing identical problems to what another member one of the malware removal team was assisting with where the Flash player redirect happens along with problems with the Hosts file and continuous router problems occur. Because it was exactly the same down to the way the files seemed to be interacting with each other I stupidly copied the steps he did and when I downloaded and ran Zoek.exe it hasn't stopped running since 5am and I can't shut it off. When i went to run malwarebytes it gave me the BSOD.

Initially When i tried to download the Zoek.exe file it would not let me so i downloaded the .zip instead.

I know better than to do what I did but when I get geek squad or someone to look at my computer we rarely ever find anything especially not a virus. I go through all the steps to fix it and it generally gets better for a very brief moment then the same problem of slowdowns, redirects and the router/memory problems come right back. Again I am really sorry for being so stupid but i cant really use my computer and it seems stuck now on the chameleon command prompt screen on a file labeled 3080:c:\WWINDOWS\SYSTEM32\NTMARTA.DLL. ok it just cleared that file and now malwarebytes is still scanning.

Ok so M/Wbytes finished running and came back clean.  However Zoek.exe is still running and I cant get it to stop.  I am concerned about shutting down my computer as well as I dont want to hard restart it and potentially do any damage

Do a "Hard Shutdown" (press the start button and wait for it to stop fully) .. ... Turn everything off and wait at least 5 minutes prior to continuing.

Do not follow other directions (except below) unless they are for you, as make / model / Operating Programs , Etc. can cause more problems than you already have.

NOW -

Please follow the instructions in the Malware Removal and Log Section Preparation Guide starting at Step 6.

  • If you cannot complete a step, then skip it and continue with the next.
  • In Step 6 there are instructions for downloading and running DDS which will create two logs. Note: Windows 8.1 Users will not be able run DDS and create a log

When you have done that, Copy and Paste your logs in the Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs forum, NOT here, for assistance by the Malware Response Team.

Start a new topic, give it a relevant title and post your log(s) along with a brief description of your problem, a summary of any anti-malware tools you have used and a summary of any steps that you have performed on your own. If you cannot produce any of the required logs or you're using Windows 8.1, then still start the new topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happened when you tried to create them. A member of the Malware Removal Team will walk you through, step by step, on how to clean your computer.

After doing this, please reply back in this thread with a link to the new topic so we can close this one, to prevent others answering incorrectly.

Thank You ..
