One of my students brought a machine into class with a specific problem.

This is a new setup:

ASUS Z97-c MB

Intel core i5-4690k 3.50 GHz 6MB smart cache

NVIDIA GTX 750 TI 2GB GDDR5

4GB DDR3 2133 mem

1TB SATA III 7200 HD

APEVIA 800 WATT PS

asetek 550LC 120MM watercooler

WIn 7 PRO-64bit

He is a gamer, no matter which game he is playing, things start off fine, then after a few minutes the graphics start stuttering.

after the frame drops-we tried lowering the video quality with no difference.

The machine came with a trial version of Win 8.1--he states that he didn't notice these problems with that OS install.  This only started after the re-install of 7 pro.

We have updated all drivers, etc..

system is not over heating, video card not over heating

Stress test on video came out fine

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Guess I should add that this happens when he is playing Saints Row 3, World of Warcraft and Borderlands 2.
