I am thinking about buying a laptop soon. Anyone have any reccomendations for a cheap good one? I dont need much on it because I am going to be using it for just general things. I need the powerpoint, word, and things like that on it. I am also going to be going on a trip and want to take it and be able to connect to the net while in the vehicle. So my 2 questions are
1. what do i need to look for in a laptop?(processor, speed, gb, ect.)
2. what all do i have to have to be able to connect to net in a vehicle
thanks

Verizon wireless has a card you can put into your laptop, and it calls like a modem, but it's really fast. My boss has one and he loves it. They are kinda expensive, like $55.00 a month, but if that is all you have to pay, i.e., no isp at home... it's not too bad.

You can get a wireless card that goes into the PCMCIA slot on your laptop to get wireless internet, or you could get a sattelite phone... these get reception basically anywhere but freaken expensive... (1000$CAD for the phoen and like 5$ a Megabyte...)

If you just need to do basic stuff look into something around 800-1000$ from acer, they make decent laptops and a good price range...
