I don't know how this was downloaded to my computer but it is causing havock.  I've tried to get it off only to be baited by more bogus programs.  Now I've got like three listed in my Programs file and they won't uninstall.  I've also run a couple of legit programs, which helped a lot and got rid of tons of junk, but I still see these programs listed.  At the moment, my computer seems to be running okay, but I'm sure soon it will start stalling and become unresponsive.  I've spent hours on this and am so frustrated.  Can anybody give me advice other than calling the microsoft support that will charge me a fee?

thanks in advance!
HT

p22002970.gif Please download Rkill (courtesy of BleepingComputer.com) to your desktop.
There are 2 different versions. If one of them won't run then download and try to run the other one.
You only need to get one of these to run, not all of them. You may get warnings from your antivirus about this tool, ignore them or shutdown your antivirus.

rKill.exe: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/dl/10/
iExplore.exe (renamed rKill.exe): http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/dl/11/

  • Double-click on the Rkill desktop icon to run the tool.
  • If using Windows Vista, 7 or 8 right-click on it and choose Run As Administrator.

  • If not, delete the file, then download and use the one provided in Link 2.
  • Do not reboot until instructed.
  • If the tool does not run from any of the links provided, please let me know.

If normal mode still doesn't work, run the tool from safe mode.

When the scan is done Notepad will open with rKill log.
Post it in your next reply.

NOTE. rKill.txt log will also be present on your desktop.

NOTE Do NOT wrap your logs in "quote" or "code" brackets.
Do NOT use spoilers.
Do NOT edit your reply to post additional logs. Create new reply. I'll not get any email notifications about edits so I won't know you posted something new.

On the Malewarebytes, I'm getting stuck on this step...

  • Open the MBAR folder located on your Desktop and paste the content of the following files in your next reply:
  • "mbar-log-{date} (xx-xx-xx).txt"
  • "system-log.txt"

When I click on the icon on my desktop, it just tries to start the install process again.  I can't even get into the program to try to look for the above files.  When I ran the update and scan it said I was up to date and that there was nothing found on the scan.  ??

the programs can be hidden in other programs you install
look for running apps in task manager (ctrl alt delete)
stop them then delete folder from program files
I would get hold of an uninstaller that has scan for left over files
Advanced Uninstaller PRO 11
Windows 7 Manager or Windows 8 Manager trial
ashampoo uninstaller 5 trial

p22002970.gif You're running two AV programs, Avast and Ad-aware.

You must uninstall one of them.

I suggest Ad-aware goes.

p22002970.gif I can see Pro PC Cleaner in your list of installed programs.

Did you try to uninstall it?

You're mixing up MBAM and MBAR instructions.

Please re-read MBAM instructions.

I have tried to uninstall Pro Pc Cleaner several times and have had no success.

I could not get the Mbam files to export b/c I can't see the "export" button.  The bottom of the page is hidden and no matter what I do I can't seem to see it or get to it.

For the mbar... I can't get it to run the scan.  It gives me an error message that says this version of Malawarebytes requires that you completely exit program to run Malawarebytes anti malware.  When I look in my task manager, nothing is running. I seem to have found the one file in history which I pasted above, but not this one...... mbar-log-{date} (xx-xx-xx).txt

Use second method to get MBAM log...

  • open MBAM once more.
  • Click on the History tab > Application Logs.
  • Double click on the Scan Log which shows the Date and time of the scan just performed.
  • Click 'Copy to Clipboard'
  • Paste the contents of the clipboard into your reply.

It says there were no threats found.

When I go to history and then application logs and find the scan I just did, I check it.. I can view it, but on either screen I cannot see "export" or "clipboard" or anything like that.  In the "view" screen it says "click on export button.." but I'm assuming the export button is at the bottom of the page, which I can not see... and no matter what I do to the window, I still can't get it to appear.  I don't see an export button anywhere else whatsoever.

Ugh.  So sorry.  I really am following your directions.
