can I stop rpc totally in win7, i do not have any client-server application installed ?

I tested win7 fresh install, and I saw some ports in the listening states, including port 135, as i know, it is the rpc port, then I followed some instructions to stop the process rpc, but when I set the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ services \ RpcSs" to disabled state (4) and reboot, windows did not run and stopped at blankscreen with white mouse where it supposed show login...

any help would be very appreciated, thx :)
