My IP Address keeps renewing and dropping my satellite feed on a regular basis We can not figure out why. I have connected to another computer and can not duplicate the problem So it is not my satellite feed. The LAN is set to tcp/ip  and to obtain ip address automatically. We have tried disabling and enabling the connection but as soon as you go to download anything it starts the process of dropping and getting a new address and then reconnecting Takes about 5 secs but this stops remote access, book downloads etc... Anybody have any ideas?

I have run a virus check? It did this about 9 months ago and then it seemed to correct itself after my satellite guy had me do numerous things of which I can't remember exactly what we did

First of all - welcome to BC

Your mouse should work if you have got into safe  mode. Are you referring to the white text on black background screen where you select 'Safe mode' ?  To navigate around this screen use the up and down arrow keys and the 'Enter' button when you have picked the option you want.

The reason your mouse doesn't work in this screen is that the mouse drivers have not been loaded at that point.

I am going to be away until about the 22nd October. Time on-line will be reduced and my internet access may be limited. PMs may not be replied to as quickly as normal !

Your usb drivers are not working in Safe mode - have you an old PS/2 mouse you can connect?  This should work in Safe Mode.
