Hi guys posted in the infected forum, cleared that my computer doesnt have anything malicious.. now I would really like a solution to this problem!

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/563495/ssl-certificate-invalid/

I have recently updated to Windows 8.1 Pro, prior to upgrading everything was working well with my desktop. Now I have an issue that I was directed to this website for, in that all my browsers are showing ERR_CERT_INVALID and a number of programs are not working at all, they seem to just crash and close themselves. All my game launchers, mainly the Blizzard launcher shows an invalid certificate error, as well as all https websites.

I have checked the time + date and the battery on my mother board. Some help would be appreciated as it is incredibly frustrating. I can still run some programs like games.

Additional Information

- Have scanned my computer with Stinger, vulnerability full scan, sfc /scannow, window's defender. I saw someone else had this same problem on this forum so running what they were suggested to run in Malwarebytes and Junk Removal Tool

- Time, date and timezone are up to date

- All browsers say that the certificate is bad and there are no options to advance and ignore the warning

- Other games besides blizzard, such as games on steam come up with errors that when I look them up are connection errors

- Blizzard launcher says " Whoops hmm, something went wrong with a security certificate. Please try restarting the Battle.net app, if that doesnt help you should contact your network administratir. Sorry about that !

Please note I upgraded to windows 8.1 through the microsoft store.

Thank you so much,

Skarrz

Networking issues aren't my strong point, but I've been able to help quite a few people with SSL Certificate errors in the past, mind if I give it a try with you? :)

A few questions to start:
  • Is the date and time of your Windows system well set? Are you in the right timezone?
  • Is the date and time in your BIOS correct as well?
  • Do you have access to another computer, laptop, phone, etc. where you could download files and transfer them to that computer?

Does this happen on ALL websites or particularly on secure sites (https)?

Can you try changing your DNS servers to Google Public DNS Servers, and see if you still have that SSL Certificate error? Here's how:

https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using

You only need to do the configuration for IPv4, not IPv6 (unless you use it, but I doubt).

Does it happens only on your computer, or on other devices connected to your modem/router as well? Also, you didn't get checked for malware, right?

Seems you don't have an active antivirus installed on that computer. Did you just recently uninstall it? If not, your computer is probably infected. That error message is generally caused by incorrect date and/or time, and malware.

I posted here http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/563495/ssl-certificate-invalid/ where they said my computer isn't infected

It only happens on this desktop, everything else works fine

My date and time is correct

Althought I know iangcarroll personally, he isn't qualified to pronounce a diagnostic to declare you clean of malware. There was no check-up made on the system, so I doubt anyone could declare you clean that way. He only said that your connection wasn't intercepted (MiTM), it doesn't means that you aren't infected. I suggest you to get a real check-up for malware if you want to be sure that you aren't infected. You can ask for one in Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs section, by following the instructions in the preparation guide. :)

My date and time is correct

Then it's probably malware.
