Somehow, recently  my computer has been infected by a malware called Flowplayer (part of Betterdeals).

It crops up in both Chrome and Firefox only (not in Safari) when I go to a blog monitor program called Statcounter.  Another blog monitor called GoStats has not been affected.

Not found in Add/Remove programs.

Malware Bytes does not show it.

Found many items about this but no solutions.

Perhaps the simple solution would be to avoid Statcounter. But request comments/suggestions.

Thank you.

Do you have a link?

What about a screenshot?

Is this only happening on Statcounter?

Check for and disable or remove any unwanted add-ons from your browser: Such as Betterdeals and Flowplayer

Flowplayer is used by site builders. You may have come across a website using that technology for the videos. I'd be surprised if it were malware.

Correct and if it cannot be found in the browser we will have to remove it.
