We have all had viruses whether they were pieces of adware that just annoyed you down to the really nasty ones such as rootkits, backdoor Trojans etc. I want to hear about you're absolute worse computer virus ever when all hell broke loose on your machine or you just gave up and started anew.

I've downloaded files that had viruses, had attempted intrusions from ads on various websites (eg: Mediafire, BeeIMG, and etc), but I've never (that I know of) had an infection. I restore my OS every now and again so that helps keep things clean. I'm sure one day I'll get a horrible infection, which is why I make backups. I'm pretty good about backing up my OS, I should backup my data more often thought in case I ever needed to zero the drive.

My first and only infection to date was a rogue AV, ten years ago.

I stress all my clients to BACK UP.  This solves all the problems associated with any virus or worm.  There are a class of "flash" viruses that install themselves in the flash BIOS chip.  A hardware reset stops that and can be recovered after cleanup.  Having the system OS install disk allows for serious recovery with the optional REPAIR.  This resolves Master Boot Record (MBR) faults and a huge number of blue screeen errors.

I get some browser hijacks from time to time, telling me that the FBI is getting ready to kick in the door at any moment, that's about it.

I'll never forget the first time I was hacked. I purchased my first computer back in 2009, and I was making my maiden voyage surfing the web. It was less than an hour into my journey (pointing and clicking on whatever MSN.com was offering) when I was Rick-Rolled. Panic ensued, and I unplugged the computer from the wall.

To err is Human. To blame it on someone else is even more Human.

That's some real nasty stuff especially if you were hacked. Hope its removed😨

The moment you realize that you accidentally backed up sality when you were trying to remove it by reformating the os

No I'm not... ;) - You don't know everything about me; I do and I'm not lucky.

If you only mean with infections, it's because I've readed things before I instsll. ;)
