Is he connecting using WiFi or an Ethernet cable?

Does he get any error messages when he loses his connection? What sorts of error messages is he getting?

If another computer is connected to that router, or a smartphone/tablet using WiFi, will it also lose its Internet connection? Or is it just your husband's laptop that is having this problem?

Who is your Internet service provider? Have you tried troubleshooting the issue with them?
