Hi

I'm trying to uninstall Avast for about a month now, and every single method/SW I used has failed. The first attempt with Windows ADD/Remove has deleted Avast uninstall tool; and even in Safe Mode + DOS 'del' command it looked like both Program Files\Avast and User\Avast directories were deleted, only to reappear when I checked latter.

Any suggestions?

Try using RejZor's avast Uninstall tool (avast-cleanup-tool)... a small program that will clean the remaining registry entries and files left behind by avast! Antivirus uninstaller.

quietman, should that tool still be used for avast! 2015, despite the warning left by the author?

After advising there is no need to provide an updated version of his tool for the new avast! 2015, he goes on to say.

However, when everything else fails and you really need to start from scratch, use my tool as it will remove everything related to avast!. Make sure you don’t have other avast! programs installed as it will remove them as well!

That is where Istra is at since everything else he has tried has not worked.

Makes sense, didn't read the article until the end, only the red warning. Thank you. One more troubleshooting step to uninstall avast! if everything else fails.
