I have a fairly new DTV tuner sitting around that is no longer needed, I was wondering if I were to connect this to my PC via a USB capture device would it work?  I am full aware that I could purchase a TV tuner that would accomplish what I want but I already have this tuner here and have access to a capture cable, Lastly... what capturing software would you recommend using? (preferably free) I'm running Win 7 if that makes a difference.

Thanks in advance!

* I just wanted to add that my plan is to only watch the OTA channels with this set up (if it will work that is} I have no plans to actually record any programming at this point.
