Mod Edit:  Split from http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/560715/fresh-install-kb2984981-kb2965788-kb2861208-failed/ - Hamluis.

Just installed a fresh windows 7 64 with sp1, got the 2 failed updates kb2984981, kb2965788. I don't have the kb2861208 though.

In fact, I have installed 3 times in a day.

I am rather OCD, as I don't like to have something "failed".

The 1st time, got a failed update but never took down the failed update number. The 2nd time when failed the updates, noted down the above mentioned 2 updates. The 3rd time saw these 2 updates but did not install them.

I understand the concern you have in reference to this but more then likely these updates do not need to be installed, probably due to a newer update correcting those older ones? tough to say but I wouldn't stress on it.
