I am rebuilding my wifes PC after the old board (ASUS on board graphics died). I want to future proof it and use existing components as much as possible. Later my son will no doubt pass on a decent CPU to replace the 2 core AMD3 that will first go into this board.

The aim is to produce reliable build that will cope with nothing more than chunky Power point presentaions , streaming the occasional movie etc.

I have 8 GB of 1600 ram, a 500 watt psu and 500 gb HD

It will run 8.1.

So the question is a reasonable budget graphics card?

Thanks
