The L75 will start up & act as if it is going to boot up, then goes blank; what could cause such a issues?

Thanks ahead of time. Running a log is probably out of the question, as it won't boot up long enough to even get to the open screen.
It is a win 8 by the way.

First, you want to check the harddisk and try to clear cmos. Try repairing windows as well.

What is the exact moment the booting process stops ? Immediatly after the windows logo ?

Do you hear a series of beeps when booting ?
